Raymond Huisman
Physical therapist
Raymond Huisman graduated as a physical therapist from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam in January 2025. His passion for exercise, sports and health stems from his background as a competitive rower. Between the ages of 10 and 20, he rowed at a high level, with the highlights being his participation in the Coupe de la Jeunesse in 2016 and 2017, and the World Championships in 2018. The discipline, routines and knowledge he gained about training and exercise during this period, he takes with him daily in his work as a physical therapist.
Patients can see Raymond for sports injuries, back, neck and shoulder problems, rehabilitation after surgery or long-term complaints, and for customized exercise guidance, among other things. His goal is to help people feel stronger, healthier and more resilient, and to support them in returning to what really matters to them. Whether you are an elite athlete or just want to get fitter in everyday life, Raymond believes it is important for patients to feel heard and understood.
In his treatments, he looks not only at the complaint itself, but also at factors that may affect recovery, such as stress, sleep, lifestyle or possible movement anxiety. He takes the time to work with the patient to identify the cause and works purposefully toward recovery. By guiding in a personal and motivating way, a treatment plan is created that strengthens one’s confidence in one’s own body.
Whether it’s returning to sports level, building up load capacity after surgery or reducing long-term complaints: Raymond works results-oriented, with an eye for the person behind the complaint. He believes that proper guidance, attention and an active approach can make the difference – not only in physical recovery, but also in the daily functioning and well-being of his patients.
